Somerset County is where Bigwood was born. This beautiful county in South West England is steeped in history. Before Christ was born there were pagan worshipers that lived among the rolling hills here. They were the people that built Stonehenge and all the other “round” artifacts left today. It is where King Arthur and the Knights of the “round” table lived and flourished. King Arthur made the round table so that everyone sitting would feel equal. There was no “head” of the table. The Bigwoods came from here and so do the round boards we offer.

While King Arthur and his Knights were meeting at the “round” table, they often grew hungry. There at the “round" table they would eat the local freshly baked bread. We added the beautiful metal handles to our bread board, reminiscent of the shining armor that Arthur’s knights wore.
